Pia de Richemont
“Somehow life appears much cheerier from behind handlebars ! ”
Franco-American by birth, Pia started traveling at 3 months old when her family sailed from South Africa to Italy. So far, she has lived on four continents. An ideal travel companion, she speaks several languages and seems to find the bright side in the dourest of situations! Pia took a double major in History and Literature (with postgraduate studies in Education and Theology) at the University of Oxford, where she rowed for her college. She has led a varied career, working for Columbia Pictures, Magnum Photos and Doctors Without Borders, while also spending a year as a postulant nun in a Carmelite Monastery. Pia used to cycle solo until she discovered ExperiencePlus. She was delighted to join its fun-loving cycling community. Currently based in Paris, Pia sometimes staffs the Paris-by-night cycling tours. She dreams of creating new cycling-kayak routes around the globe. At rest, she is a sculptor, painter (with international prizes and exhibitions) and writer (her one-woman show “Stilettos in the Key of G” was awarded 5 stars by “The Oxford Times”). Who knows, after a tour with Pia, perhaps you may find yourself in a new painting or play!
