We’ll be delighted to arrange extra nights at your tour starting and ending hotels for you so you have less work making arrangements, along with the convenience of keeping the same room for your entire stay. Refer to your tour packet for the full list of hotels on your tour. Don’t hesitate to reach out to our Traveler Services team with your extra night request (Gravel Explorer tours excluded).
Some itineraries that are being finalized may have a note that says “Hotel TBA”. This means that we haven’t listed a final hotel yet. If you see this note in combination with a listed hotel, that means that we may use a second hotel in addition to the one listed, but are still finalizing. We will announce your departure hotel as soon as possible. If you are booked on a Classic, Expedition or Bike and Boat tour, even when the hotel has not been confirmed, we will still be happy to collect your extra night requests, and book you in once it’s possible. As always, we recommend that you only make flexible arrangements if you book on your own.
If you’re booked on a Gravel Explorer tour, extra night reservations will need to be made at your end. If you see this remark and are uncertain, please reach out to us!
For some of our tours that start in more remote locations, we often designate a meeting hotel that we use as a gathering point to meet our complimentary ExperiencePlus! shuttle. We have have been able to arrange special rates with some meeting hotels, and would love to make your pre- or post-tour reservations there for you! Just email us, and we’ll tell you all you need to know! (Gravel Explorer tours excluded.)
If you would like to expand your travels to other locations beyond your cycling tour, or simply see what else is out there, give our hotel recommendations a look! Find them listed under each country on our Travel Planning Pages and on this handy map.
For Gravel Explorer tour participants and hands-on planners, here are a few tips:
- Check the timing. If you are planning more or around 6 months prior to your tour, please contact us in case there are changes to the hotels listed for your tour.
- Find out which are your tour starting, meeting, ending or drop-off hotels. Refer to your tour packet. Read the arrival and departure information carefully as e.g. your group might meet at a meeting hotel and then transfer to the tour starting point together.
- Use the hotel’s booking platform or an online hotel booking site (e.g. booking.com).We recommend booking refundable/flexible rates.
- In the comment box on the booking form or a follow-up email, let the hotel know you are with the ExperiencePlus! group on X date. Avoid numeric date formats to prevent confusion (e.g. write June 3, not 6/3 as this could easily mean March 6 in Europe).
- Make sure you receive confirmation of your reservation.
- Let us know you’ve made your own extra night reservations.
- Keep your reservation confirmation so you can access it while traveling.
If you need to cancel your hotel reservations, check if a cancel charge applies and make make sure you receive cancellation confirmation.
If you prefer to email the hotel instead of booking online, keep in mind that it will be more difficult to provide them securely with your credit card details.
